This past weekend, I had the opportunity to partner with @4ocean and an amazing crew of ocean lovers to kick off Earth Month with a beach cleanup that left my heart full. Together, we removed over 500 pounds of plastic and trash from our coastline—proof that when a community comes together, we can create real impact.
Beach cleanups matter more than most people realize. Every year, 8 million metric tons of plastic enter our oceans. Once there, this pollution threatens marine life, disrupts ecosystems, and even makes its way back to us through the food chain. In fact, 70% of beach litter is plastic, much of it single-use. Cleanups like this one aren’t just about keeping beaches pretty—they’re about protecting turtles, dolphins, and countless species that call the sea home.
For me, this cleanup was a reminder that small actions add up. Whether you're picking up a few pieces of litter on your beach walk or organizing a full-scale cleanup, every effort matters. And if you ever needed a reason to dive in and give back, let this be it: every piece removed is one less threat to our oceans.
